Vehicle Tracking System Specifications
GSM: Global System for Mobile Communications
GSM is a second-generation digital mobile telephone standard using a variation of Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA). It is the most widely used of the three digital wireless telephone technologies - CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), GSM and TDMA. GSM digitalizes and compresses voice data, then sends it down a channel with two other streams of user data, each in its own time slot. It operates at 900,1800 or 1,900MHz frequency bands.
GPRS: General packet radio service
General packet radio service (GPRS) is a packet-based wireless data communication service designed to replace the current circuit-switched services available on the second-generation GSM and TDMA IS-136 networks. GSM and TDMA networks were designed for voice communication, dividing the available bandwidth into multiple channels, each of which is constantly allocated to an individual call (circuit-switched). These channels can be used for data transmission, but they only provide a maximum transmission speed of around 9.6Kbps. Hence, GPRS has opened enormous opportunities for efficient, secure and cost effective global communication of Data, SMS, and voice.
GPS: GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM
3i Technologies provide GPS to enable accurate navigation. GPS satellites continuously transmit radio messages to the 3i Mobile Terminal GPS receiver. We also offer GSM/GPS/GPRS with Virtual Map Sever that enable user to navigate vehicle position.
